KLM strengthens India footprint with the launch of new route Hyderabad - Amsterdam

Hyderabad, 03 September 2025: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines proudly announces the launch of its new direct service between Hyderabad (HYD) and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS), marking its fourth gateway in India.

The inaugural flight, KL 874 departed from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on September 3rd, 2025, marking the official launch of this new route.

With existing services from Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai, Hyderabad becomes the 4th gateway from India.

The addition of Hyderabad to KLM’s Indian network will further enhance air connectivity between India and Amsterdam, offering seamless access to over 160 destinations across KLM’s global network.

Expanding footprint in India

Hyderabad, often referred to as the ‘Pharma Capital of India,’ is a rapidly growing business hub attracting significant international investment in life sciences, biotechnology, and healthcare. In addition, many American and European IT companies have established offices in the city, further driving its global relevance. This dynamic growth has created strong demand for enhanced global connectivity. KLM’s expansion in Hyderabad underscores its commitment to the Indian market and supports the rising demand for leisure, business, and cargo travel. In the summer schedule, KLM will operate 22 weekly flights from four Indian gateways, increasing to 27 weekly flights during the winter season.

In FY 2024-25, GHIAL achieved notable growth in its route network, now serving 97 destinations, 72 domestic and 25 international. The year saw the addition of more than 14 new destinations, including prominent global cities such as Hong Kong, Phuket, Madina, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City, alongside major domestic destinations like Jammu, Prayagraj, Agartala, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Jalgaon, Jharsuguda, and Agra.

This development is a testament to GHIAL’s continued efforts to enhance passenger convenience and diversify its international network, positioning RGIA as a preferred choice for global travelers. As a single-roof integrated terminal, Hyderabad Airport proudly serves as the best transfer gateway between South East Asia, Europe, and North America.

Flight Schedule

This route will be serviced by Boeing 777-200ER. This aircraft offers 35 seats in World Business Class, 24 seats in Premium Comfort Class and 229 seats in Economy Class.

  • KL874 departs from Hyderabad, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 0220hrs local time and arrives at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport the same day at 0840hrs
  • KL873 departs from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport at 1140hrs and arrives at Hyderabad, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 0030hrslocal time the next day.
