2009

• The new airport sets global benchmarks by becoming world #1 in airport service quality survey conducted by ACI in its very first year of operations.
• GMR Aerospace Park and SEZ is commissioned, the only facility in India featuring direct airside connectivity and an airport based free trade zone.

2010

• India’s first and only dedicated ‘Pharma Zone’ opens at Hyderabad Airport’s Cargo Terminal providing a unique competitive advantage to the industries in India’s pharma capital Hyderabad.
• Ranked world #1 in ACI ASQ passenger survey in 5-15 million passengers per annum airports category.

2011

Launched Fly via Hyderabad Program- A unique initiative to establish Hyderabad as a regional hub.

2012

• Hyderabad Airport operationalizes secondary runway.
• GMR Aero Technic, India's most advanced 3rd party Maintenance Repair and Overhaul(MRO) facility, opens at GMR Aerospace Park at Hyderabad Airport.

2013

• British Safety Council(BSC) conferred the 'Sword of Honour' on Hyderabad Airport.
• Hyderabad Airport also received 5-star rating for Health & Safety by BSC, first for any airport in the world.

2014

• Formation of new state Telangana boosted the passenger traffic and cargo growth rate at RGIA.
• Canada's premier business school "Schulin School of Management" establishes its India campus at Hyderabad Airport City.

2015

• Hyderabad Airport touches a new milestone, crossing the 10-million annual passenger mark for the first time.
• A 5MW captive solar power plant is commissioned, marking a major milestone towards becoming a Green Power.
• E-boarding goes live at Hyderabad Airport making it the first airport in the country to have end-to-end digital passenger processing platform, laying the foundation for a future of seamless, paperless travel.

2016

• Hyderabad Airport ranked world #1 in ACI ASQ passenger survey in 5-15 million passengers per annum(mppa) airports category for the third time since its inception.
• Hyderabad Airport attains ACI Level 3+ 'Carbon Neutrality' recognition, becoming the first airport in Asia Pacific in 5-15 mppa category.

2017

• Hyderabad Airport crosses the 15 million annual passengers mark for the first time
• Hyderabad Airport is India's first airport to offer 'Express Security Check' facility for passengers travelling only with hand baggage.
• Hyderabad Airport launches 'Passenger is Prime', a passenger centric initiative aimed at assisting passengers in need.
• Amazon opens South Asia's largest e-commerce fulfilment center at Hyderabad Airport City.
• Hyderabad Airport ranked world #1 again in ACI ASQ passenger survey in 5-15 million passengers per annum(mppa) airports category.

2018

• 100 million passenger passes through Hyderabad Airport, crowning a successful decade of operations.
• The annual passenger traffic has tripled from 6 million passengers to 18 million passengers and increased the cargo traffic from 50,000 metric tonnes to about 140,000 metric tonnes, all in decade's span.
• Large scale expansion of Hyderabad Airport begins, with design capacity of around 35 million annual passengers.
• Interim International Departures Terminal(IIDT) is inaugrated, intended to sustain the growth momentum and service quality during the implementation of the airport expansion project.

2019

• First elements of the expanded airport in the form of 26 new aircraft parking stands and additional 4-lane vehicle ramps at arrival and departure level are commissioned.
• Hyderabad Airport becomes the first in India to convert the entire domestic security check area to modern Automated Tray Retrieval System(ATRS) which provided a significant boost to throughput and reduced passenger waiting times.
• Inaugration of interim Domestic Arrival Terminal(IDAT) to significantly expand baggage reclaim capacity at the airport.
• Won Best Regional Airport, Best Airport Staff Service Awards in India and Central Asia at Skytrax World Airport Awards 2019.
