Hyderabad, 24 September 2025: GMR Aero led consortium-GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) today announced that Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has been honored with the esteemed titles of "National Energy Leader" and "Excellent Energy Efficient Unit" at the 26th National Award Ceremony for 'Excellence in Energy Management,' an event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 18th September 2025. This recognition marks a significant achievement for RGIA, as it has received the "National Energy Leader" accolade for the seventh consecutive year and the "Excellent Energy Efficient Unit" distinction for the Ninth time.
The awards aim to identify and honor organizations that have demonstrated outstanding performance in energy management, and to facilitate the sharing of best practices and innovative technologies across industries. The 2025 edition featured over 570 participating companies from across the country.

RGIA harnesses the power of green energy through a combination of its own 10 MWp (megawatt peak) solar power plant and green energy supplied by TGSPDCL.
